Well, I never knew that we had our own offical Groundhog kinda animal on the trails but according to Graham we do. So after reading this interesting comment on the blog I will share with everyone......
Mr. Oliver was quoted as saying.......
"......well he has nothing on Whaleback's own "Tappie the Ptarmigan" in predicitng the timing of spring. According to Tappie, who resides on the bog atop Raven's Ridge, we're going to be grooming the trails 'till June. So no spring in the forecast! Shockin' ... I want to be kayaking then. If that bird doesn't change his predicition, he'll be in a stew in the Pentagon!"
So I guess that's it folks we can keep our skiis out for a long time yet. Like I said til twigs scrapes me skiis.

Great job on your site, Jill. Matter of fact, I think I'm jealous. " The Pressure", the pressure. By the way , I did see Tappie twice the other day on Raven's Ridge.
