WILDCATS PREPARING FOR THE LOPPET!!!

Wildcats Preparing for the Loppet in
Corner Brook

There seems to be a crowd of wildcats preparing for
the fun loppet in Corner Brook at BMD of the 23 ... the same day
as the Greek Dinner. Last year we packed 40 people into cars and headed off for
a day skiing on the BMD trails and lost the BMD Cup by a layer of glide wax
(glide wax is thinner thatn grip wax). Now we know there is
NO more controversy over this deal with our Neighbours
to the North ... it has all been kiss and make up and we should go in there and
show them all the spirit of cooperation that we espouse (nice word). The
deal goes like this ... ski as many kms as you want and you get points for the
Wildcats for each km you ski ... I think that's how it works ... and if our
club skis a pile of kms we win the loppet ... so you can be slow, fast, in
between ... It's all about participation and healthy living. I did say
that it stared at 1:30 and I also said we had a Greekl dinner that evening, so
some skiers said to me ... why not sneak in and start at 12:30 and arrange
to be back at the start of the loppet for 1:30 so that we can hug all the BMD
members who are there at the start and then we can head off again. This is
a real sneak attack because we will already have hundreds of kms logged by the
time the start gun blasts "Allez!" at 1:30 .. all legal and withiin the
rules of Fair Play. We can then leave early so that we are back to
time to eat "Slouvakkkkkkiiiiieee" or how ever ya spell it. Check
Wildcat sign up sheet at chalet ... I think Carter Powers will put one up or
Howard or some other volunteer ... check it out and remember this is
non-competitive in nature and you get to ski another trail system.
