Marathon Meeting :)

Marathon meeting went Very
Well

Lots of volunteers for the marathon ... but we are
still looking fro a few officials. If you know of a person who does not
ski and who would not mind recording skiers as they come across the finish line
... just let me know. Might also need a few souls working in the
kitchen .... another few here and there. One request that was made earlier
by potential entrants was a tour of the course for participants unfamiliar
with the course. We are also trying to get as many young people from
the club involved in this event as possible. It was also suggested that
our recreational skiers try to set an objective of skiing a course that is a
challenge for them. It could be a 5 km course or 11 km or even a 20
km. Do I hear 40 km? Earl Hunt (in charge of trails) said that we
will have signage for the Marathon and Festival of Skiers up early and
people will be able to ski the trails in advance. More later.
Oh yes ... calling committees have been put in place to call members and ask
them for food donations for the "marathon banquet" ... now that's not a three
day meal, it is a meal after a long ski.
