The Festival of Skiers Marathon Stuff!!!! (and for my blog fans)

Hi folks;
I know information like this is a little late in coming to the blog but as I have been a very busy teacher this week,,,,with report cards coming up and the like I have not had a chance to get things on the blog.....sorry......but we HAVE to log all this wonderful stuff from Graham.....you know when someone uses such big words as copious and plethoria....we have to enlighten people with this intellectual stuff.....good for the brain....makes ya ski better.....
Enough from me!!!!

FROM GO
So yeah ... I took a lot of ribbing this evening
about the copious emails I have sending and apparently the emails have been
disrupting office work and doctors clinics right across this province and into
my native province of Nova Scotia ... but you know what, it worked!
Whaleback has surpassed 170 registrations and we will be hosting our
biggest marathon ever. Hot ticket, or what? We actually ran out of bibs and
had to bring out another series this evening. And what a wonderful grand
crowd we have. The chalet was abzzzzzzzz this evenign with
everything from ... "what's the wax?" to "what are you serving at your feed
stations?" ..... "Roast beaver b'ye ... what da ya think!!!"

At one point, Avalon even boasted that they won the
Ernie Langins in 2006 at the last Whaleback Marathon, and this remark
caused the entire Whaleback chalet to break out in spontaneous
laughter ... Imagine ... Avalon coming to Whaleback and trying to steal the
Ernie Langins trophy ..... BMD maybe, but our "Neighbours to the Far
East" ...." Acchun neigh Nout teagh" .... or as my mother would say
in Gaelic ... "Not going to happen!" Actually, to give Avalon
Nordic a greater chance this year we have even provided accomodation for an
entire van load of from te Outfitters on the floor of our chalet
.... it's called the "Big Sleep Over", but unfortunately not big
enough.

Now to details for anyone reading this email who
will be skiing tomorrow

1) If you register for a particular course and
then ski another please notify the finish bib recorder ... e.g. you register for
the 40 and ski the 20 ... well you are going to be embarrassed when you're
name is called called out at the banquet as the winner of the 40 ... because
your time will be a tad less that had you skied 40 ... well for some it might
not matter

2. There will be a photographer talking
photos all day on the coruse and aaround the chalet and he will be making up CDs
of his days work ... these cds will be available at the banquet for ordering ...
Aiden Mahoney is the photographer and he is an acclaimed photographer and has
even had Jack Lamond's derriere on the big screen in Time Square .... so if
you want photos of the day ask Aiden to send you a CD ... I think he said $12.00
and he will mail the disk ... what a deal ... He is MR. dependable and takes
great photos. You''lll see him all day around the course.

3) Tomorrow we will be playing Ivan White's
tunes before and after the marathon ... Ivan was an avid Whaleback skier
who was the best fiddler in Newfoundland, a title he claimed the in the
early 70s ... Ivan passed away in January and we really miss him .... so
tomorrow have a lively step when you hear Ivan playing ... he would
love for you to celebrate his music by doing a little jig ad he will be
with us in spirit

4) We have Search and Rescue providing
evacuation tomorrow and monitoring the course .... but we also live in the
cellular age so if you see an accident on the course and have a cell phone call
649-4000 Search and Rescue, or 643-9902 chalet for
help.

Gotta run ... someone told me that Shawn leamon
and Ian Hutchinson had a crowd of BMDers coming in over the Northern
flank and we have to head them off at Ro,maines Brook with more skiers from
the Whaleback rear phank. It's time to unite Whalebackers
..... still time to register if you dodge in tomorrow morning early..... we try
to please!
\Bib pick up starting at 9:00ish.

No editing as we got things to do and its
11:36
