CONDITIONS ON THE TRAILS

Conditions for Monday, March 31ST
2008

Grooming is a hard call this time of the year. Little
snow ... sunshine melting ... cold nights freezing ... the trail is in constant
change and sometimes Mrs. Sun grooms the trail for us. Kenny will be
performing a bit of an experiment for us tomorrow. He will go out
and groom the Foxtrot, Snowy Owl, Oliver's Twist, up Hayes Hump and back to
chalet via Chickadee and Raven's Ridge with the BR250. It will be
interesting to compare the trails that are groomed vs.the trail
sections that are not groomed by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Will
the difference be significant, or not? It will be interesting
to compare notes. Braveheart may not be done
tomorrow. Today was a major transition into spring
skiing. All the trails aren't in the spring skiing mode yet, but
they are moving there and with the sun forecast for tomorrow we will soon be
there. Skiers are urged to use caution on hills especially the
Snowy Owl, Sleepy Canuck, Deadly Descent and the
Saddleback. It is better to ski laps of OT safely than risk
breaking a bone on the trails with icy hills. This warning is
especially directed to the evening skiers as conditions can turn
very icy after 3:00 p.m. when the temperature drops. Please be
cautious.
