Hot off the Wire ...
Usually every morning I check the Globe and Mail and the
local papers for current news and here on April 1st, what do I read?
A press release favouring the Tom Cods. Being a retired teacher
myself, and being a purest in the Fair Play world, I said: "Let the
games go on for the Tom Cods and may they swim to the surface and snatch a few
capelin along the way." This was a wonderful move by Minister
Burke and it shows her commitment to fitness and the noble profession of
teaching. In order to facilitate the adding of kms for the Tom Cods, Kenny
has volunteered to groom the 5 km with the BR250 every evening after school
until April 15th. Swim on Tom Cods! Swim on! Hopefully this will not be
too great of concern for the Urchins and Rollin' Capelin who are now sidelined
and bursing their injuries after a sprint to the finish.
